Lowell Power Plant
Alliance Energy expanded its portfolio of generation assets in the northeastern US with the acquisition of the Lowell Power Plant in Lowell, Massachusetts. Named Lowell Cogeneration Company L.P. (“Lowell Cogen”), the facility is a 30 MW combined cycle power plant providing capacity and energy into the New England markets administered by ISO-NE. The facility is capable of utilizing renewable bio-diesel in addition to fossil fuels to generate electricity, however, Lowell Cogen has retired the facility.
